Dr. Martinez was born and raised in La Paz, Bolivia. After graduating from high school, she moved to the United States to pursue a career in medicine. She discovered her passion for women’s health early in medical school. “It is an honor and a privilege to be part of bringing new life into the world and to witness women become mothers
Dr. Martinez attended medical school and completed her Obstetrics and Gynecology training at Virginia Commonwealth University. She is dedicated to supporting women through some of the most vulnerable and transformative moments of their lives. Her clinical interests include hospital-based care, management of both low and high-risk pregnancies, urgent gynecologic procedures, and contraception counseling. She finds particular fulfillment in guiding and empowering patients throughout labor and delivery while providing thoughtful, patient-centered care.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Martinez is fluent in both written and spoken Spanish and values the ability to connect with and care for Spanish-speaking patients.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Martinez enjoys salsa dancing with her husband, traveling, exercising, and spending time with her three cats, as well as with friends and family.
Billing & Insurance
We participate with most local and many national insurance plans. However it is your responsibility to understand whether your insurance has limits on the doctors you can see, or the services you can receive. If you provide complete and accurate information about your insurance, we will submit claims to your insurance carrier and receive payments for services. Depending on your insurance coverage, you may be responsible for co-payments, co-insurance, or other deductible amounts. Not all providers participate with all insurance plans.
